Belgium playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has left disappoint after his team’s 2-0 Nations League defeat to France on Tuesday, calling it one of his worst performances, while also criticising head coach Dominic Tedesco’s tactics, which were too cowardly, allowing him to play with 6-7 players deep in his own half.

De Bruyne wore the captain’s armband yesterday but failed to make an impact in the attacking game due to the lack of support from his teammates, which reminded him of the third-place team of the 2018 World Cup, which is of a much higher standard than the current one.

“There are many things that are unacceptable, but I won’t say what they are,” he told local television network VTM.

“I can’t criticize it in the media, but that team was better in every way,”

“If the standard we want to reach is the best team, but we have been a team that is not good enough for a long time compare to that level. It is a personal matter that is difficult to squeeze the performance to that level.”

“If you just put six players in your own half, there’s no coordination. It’s not about waiting for a counter-attack – the players aren’t showing their quality.”

Tedesco does not appear to be the preferred ยูฟ่าเบท head coach of the Belgian seniors, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois previously announcing he would not play for the national team if the manager was still in charge.
